Aura
The aura is known by a
number of other names, that rely upon the various theories about it's
nature or how it can be detected. Other names include life-field, electromagnetic
field, electrostatic field, bioplasmic field, energy body, and corona
discharge.
The word aura is
perhaps the least scientific but it is still the most regularly used term
for what all who claim awareness of it describe as an energy field that
surrounds the body. It is usually seen as a haze or glow or oval of light,
of varying colours and intensity at different distances from the body.
The colour of the aura is said to change according to health and mood
and depend also on aspects of the individual's character and psychological
development. Gaps and other anomalies in the aura reflect physical conditions,
such as disease e.g. the presence of a tumour or perhaps the absence of
an appendix. For example, if a particular organ is diseased it will not
emit an aura of the same brightness or intensity as that of the rest of
the body.
