Bioelectromagnetics
In 1969 David Cohen noticed
a magnetic field set up by the brain up to a few inches around the head.
Electricity is used when the brain receives messages from the nerves and
when it processes information. When the heart contracts it emits a wave
of between one and three cycles per second and this electrical activity
creates a magnetic field around the heart. The entire body acts as a rather
weak radio transmitter.
The body's electromagnetic
field may be adversely affected by electromagnetic activity in the environment.
This can be demonstrated by those who study geobiology and bioentrainment.
Dr Solco Tromp of the Biometeorological Research Centre in Leiden has
claimed that people leave behind a discernible and measurable electrostatic
aura when they have been in a room. Tromp found that incidents of
suicide in the Netherlands tend to cluster around periods when there is
a sudden change in the weather. Other studies have found correlations
between such weather changes and heart disease, between solar activity
peaks, geomagnetic agitation and heart failure. The opposite has also
been found; a reduction in heart failure cases coincides with a period
of relatively calm sunspot activity.
