Dance as a Healing Art - Cork
I dance with my shadow. It's a healing dance.
As a young child I was deeply wounded circa five times, As well as crushed by the force of too much compression.
Rebecca Griffin is certified since 1999, and she has completed over 20 years research into the Human Psyche and the Unconscious Mind. I have also spent a large amount of time in the caring profession, which I do on a daily basis these days. I am a performer/choreographer member of Dance Ireland. And, I am fully insured for public liability.

Laban Movement Observation and Analysis; Is an important tool for all movers and dancers, and anyone else who wants to become more embodied. It is a symbolised system used to observe and record all aspects of human movement. We discover what moves us, and can use it to describe our movement to others.
Noguchi Taiso; a Japanese system of training for Body and Mind.
Shintoism; The Japanese religion of Shintoism is a huge influence in my healing work. This is Nature worship. In Japan, there are shrines everywhere.
I have always also been largely shaped and moulded by the Orient, since I lived there as a child. Buddhism makes great sense to me. Today, it is also very popular in the Western world.
Somatics/Embodiment Sessions
Use Developmental Movement to re-learn the very basics of human movement. Improve your health, wellbeing and overall coordination.
Allow yourself to work through the Fundamentals of Human Movement towards a sense of Total Body Integration. Relearn your natural motor development and bodily coordination and awareness. Great for personal development!

The year before last I appeared online performing in the Online Performance Art Festival. In 2016 my piece on The Dark night of the Soul by St John of the Cross was due to be presented at Perforum in U.C.C. Although sadly on the day I could not be there myself as I live with chronic pain.
This April I was very happy to present a Butoh Dance workshop right here in Cork City with Japanese Master Butoh dance teacher Hiroko Tamano of Harupin HA. The four days culminated with our dance performance which was a free public event.
