To complement and broaden her skills Margaret obtained a diploma in Social Studies, and more recently, both a diploma and an advanced diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy.

At times of stress or crisis, the opportunity to talk through our problems in a caring, supportive, safe environment can be invaluable. Counselling provides the space and time to examine troubling issues to overcome blocks and to help release our natural energies for healing, growth and personal fulfilment.
Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy
Hypnosis is not a therapy rather a therapy is conducted in Hypnosis which is called Hypno-Psychotherapy. Hypnosis is a trance-like state and everyone has the ability to enter into a trance. Hypnotherapy is psychotherapy, a treatment for emotional and psychological problems, which uses Hypnosis to help people. It works by teaching people how to attain a state of deep relaxation that gives access to the subconscious mind.
Hypnosis is the key that unlocks the door to the powerhouse of thoughts, memories, and emotions, thereby giving access to our mind's untapped potential. In Hypnosis, there is absolutely no question of being controlled or manipulated or even induced into a deep trance state. A person in hypnosis is not asleep - they are often more aware of what is taking place than usual and their senses function more efficiently than normal. The therapist will use his or her voice to induce you into the state of hypnosis. You are unlikely to feel hypnotised as such. You will probably experience a feeling of mental and physical relaxation and your memory will be enhanced.
This is used to treat simpler problems such as smoking, nail-biting, pre-test nerves, weight loss, relaxation, confidence etc.
This is used to discover causes of emotional and psychological problems (a mix of both can sometimes be used). Hypno-Analysis can be summarised briefly as the doctrine of cause and effect, every symptom has a cause. Hypno-Analysis reveals that cause and provides a therapeutic opportunity to reprocess it, thereby relieving the symptoms.
Hypnotherapy Can Help with the Following Conditions and Issues:
Or any other issues of a psychosomatic nature.
Frequently Asked Questions about Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy
What is Hypnosis? It is a state of deep relaxation and concentration at one with a state of heightened awareness induced by suggestion. It is a non-addictive power for good and is a natural manifestation of the mind at work. It is completely natural and 100% safe.
Are there any drugs or tablets used? No. (You should stay on your normal medication)
Shall I be aware of what is happening? Yes. The predominant feeling of most people is - 'it didn't work for me - I never went under'
So am I asleep then? No. You are simply extremely relaxed.
Is there any cause at all for concern? None whatsoever. Hypnosis is a proven Therapeutic aid.
How many visits will I need? Simpler problems like smoking, nail biting, slimming pre-test nerves etc. usually require 1-3 sessions and the success rate is surprisingly high. The more deep rooted nervous disorders require analytical rather than suggestion therapy which consists of 6 - 10 weekly sessions.
Could I be influenced to do anything against my will or nature? No. In fact you would be shocked out of the hypnotic state immediately any such action was suggested to you
Can 'normal' people undergo Hypnotherapy and psychoanalysis? Not only can they, but they should. For an insight into yourself it has no equal.
