What is Indian Head Massage (Champissage)?
Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient ayurvedic system of healing. The word Ayurveda comes from Sanskrit, the ancient language of India, and means “knowledge of life”. This form of massage addresses those areas where we tend to hold a great deal of tension. The treatment includes massage of the upper back, neck, shoulders, upper arms, head and face. It is based on the traditional form of Champi, (an Indian word meaning head massage) which has been practiced in India for over 1,000 years. Indian Champissage was developed from this treatment to include balancing of the body’s main energy centres (chakras).
What can the Indian Head Massage Client Expect?
Anne carries out each treatment in a caring and professional manner. The therapy is carried out in a comfortable and relaxing therapy room. Anne will complete a Client Consultation Form with you when you first attend to ensure the treatment is tailored to your needs and that there are no contra indications to massage. Confidentiality and privacy are assured. You will be comfortably seated and fully dressed during the treatment. Most clients enter a deeply relaxed state, sometimes drifting into sleep. As balancing of the body’s energy system is carried out as part of the treatment a sense of deep calm and healing is very often experienced. Indian Champissage is carried out without the use of oils. Each session, which includes a short consultation, will last for approximately 50 minutes.
What are the Benefits of Indian Head Massage (Champissage)?
